Better managing i18n and PO files
09-22, 11:50–12:20 (Europe/Lisbon), Auditorium

Stop dealing with giant PO files when trying to achieve i18n on your website and start managing them better.

When dealing with static pages translation in python we have to work with PO files that are the standard way to internationalize our page, however, these files can get pretty big and complex to maintain (I’ve seen cases where these files have 25k lines of translations), so the idea behind this talk is to share a workflow that can help us to deal with these large files under the philosophy of “divide and conquer”. In this talk you will learn how to standardize the process for translating your pages and how to stop dealing with those big ugly files by using the polib library, also you will be able to start sending parallel translation projects, saving your organization time and money.
